Sarah Shook, of Towns County, was crowned Miss Georgia Mountain Fair in Anderson Music Hall in Hiawassee, Aug. 18.
First runner up was Kylee Parker of Raburn County; second runner up was Emma Hyatt, of Cherokee County. Ashley Bradburn, of Union County, was voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.
Nine contestants competed in the yearly event including, Hyatt, of Cherokee County; Abby Joyce, Clay County; Parker, Raburn County; Bradburn; and Ivie Davenport, Karah Shae, Carlee Moody, Shook and Brenlee Kitchens, all of Towns County.
The Star Dance Team opened the show with spectacular musical and dance numbers. The contestants hit the stage in designer sportswear for their first appearance; followed by evening wear and questions from host Israel Rogers. The night was full of energy and glamor as each girl brought beauty and personality to the stage.
A special thanks was given to Ann Moody and Israel Rogers along with the judges and those who put in hours back stage to make the event a success. The pageant was sponsored by T Birds Nest in Hiawassee.
The event is part of the Georgia Mountain Fair which continues through Saturday, Aug. 27.
