Cheryl Ann Nicklow, has been transported from Florida to Clay County where she faces a murder charge in the Feb. 16 shooting death of Todd Phillip Taylor.

Clay County Sheriff’s Officers picked up Nicklow, 66, from the custody of the Collier County, Fla. Sheriff’s Office on March 20.

Initially she had fought extradition and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was in the process of obtaining a governor’s warrant, but at the last minute Nicklow signed the extradition papers, according to officer Tyler Faggard.

Nicklow is being held in the Clay County Detention Center. She has had one hearing and no bond was set.

A Clay County Grand Jury has issued a true bill of indictment on one count of murder.

Taylor, 61,  was found with a single gunshot wound to the head, according to an earlier report from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicklow had fled to a Florida hospital after she allegedly killed Taylor, her fiancée, at his Mission Dam Road home.

Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested her there and held her without bond on a fugitive warrant.

In addition to residing here, Taylor has relatives in Clay County. Funeral nor memorial services have been announced.

Nicklow’s next court date is April 15.
