The Peacock Performing Arts Center is thrilled to announce that tickets are officially on sale for its upcoming summer camp musical production, "Our Adventures of Peter Pan." Performances will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 20 and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 21. Inspired by the beloved classic, this vibrant adaptation takes audiences on a familiar journey to Neverland. Under the creative direction of Robbie Dernehl, who brings her own signature flair to the production, theater-goers can expect an inventive, high-energy reimagining of the timeless tale that will surprise and delight audiences of all ages. "The story has unexpected twists and turns and some fun new characters," says Dernehl. The production is the grand finale of The Peacock’s intensive summer camp running from Monday, June 8 through Sunday, 21. Dernehl has led and directed the Summer Performing Arts Camp at the Peacock since its production of Pinocchio in 2012. Over the course of two weeks, young campers are fully immersed in the theatrical arts, receiving expert guidance from a professional choreographer, music director and acting coach who bring a combined 60 plus years of onstage experience to the table. In addition to sharpening their performance skills, campers are getting hands-on experience behind the scenes, actively designing and creating the props and stage decorations for the show. It is a fast-paced, inspiring program dedicated to building creativity, collaboration and confidence. The final performances will be a full-scale musical production featuring professional sets, stunning costumes and expert lighting, showcasing the incredible hard work and talent of the local youth.
