Fall is not in the air yet, but it’s time to turn an eye toward football and the Hayesville Youth League PeeWees are among those preparing for the upcoming season. Above, the team takes a break from conditioning and learning the fundamentals of the game from coaches Dayton Williams, Winston Acosta, Justin Garrett and Dalton Taylor. The youth league plays on Saturdays and is scheduled to scrimmage Murphy in an away game on Aug. 10. Then they’ll travel to Copper Basin on Aug. 17 and it’s on to Frank R. Long Memorial Stadium for their first home game against Andrews on Aug. 24. Games start at 9:30 a.m. with PeeWees followed by Termites, Mites and Midget games.
