In support of veterans and the community, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 532 recently replaced the POW-MIA flag at the Clay County Care Center. We would like to thank the care center’s director, Scott Alexander, for the continued partnership with the auxiliary as we endeavor to fulfill our mission statement to serve veterans, their families and their community. We would also like to thank the Post 532 Honor Guard for their help with installing the new flag.
As seen in our local George Lee Post 532 and auxiliary, the American Legion is committed to advocating patriotism and honor, mentoring youth and sponsoring wholesome programs in our communities, promoting a strong national security and continued devotion to fellow service members and veterans. The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 for a meal, followed at 7 p.m. for post and auxiliary business meetings at the Community Services Building, 25 Riverside Circle, Hayesville.
