A head-on collision on Tusquittee
Road Friday evening interrupted traffi c
fl ow for about an hour, but did not result
in serious injuries.
Johathan Buck Taylor, was driving
a 1988 Ford SUV south on Tusquittee
Road when the vehicle crossed left of
center and struck a 2005 Ford pickup
head-on.
The pickup was driven by Carl Edwords,
of Hayesville, according to the
accident report fi led by N.C. Trooper AJ
Gordon. Edwards was not transported
for medical services. His truck sustained
an estimated $12,000 in damages.
Taylor, also of Hayesville, was initially
transported to the Murphy hospital and
has since been released. Damages to his
vehicle are estimated at $6,500.
Taylor was charged with driving while
impaired. He has a July court date.
