The N.C. Cooperative Extension of Clay County is gearing up for the 17th Annual Tractor Parade and Ag Day set to be an unforgettable celebration of agriculture and community spirit. At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30 Hayesville Town Square will come alive with games, music, informative displays and a captivating array of tractors, both modern marvels and cherished classics.
This year's event holds a special surprise for tractor enthusiasts as the Clay County Tractor Club will be raffling off a pristine 1950 Ford 8N tractor. Excitement is building as event-goers eagerly anticipate the chance to own this piece of agricultural history. Tickets for the raffle will be available for purchase at the event and the lucky winner will be revealed following the tractor parade. All funds raised from the raffle will go to support the Clay County Tractor Club scholarship funds.
The festivities promise a day filled with family-friendly entertainment and education about the region's rich agricultural heritage. Hayesville town square will transform into a bustling hub of activity, featuring not only the much-anticipated tractor parade but also games, entertainment, informational displays and engaging animal exhibits.
The tractor parade, the crown jewel of the event, will commence at 12 p.m. showcasing an impressive lineup of tractors that have played an integral role in the area's farming legacy. Spectators will have the opportunity to admire these mechanical marvels up close and appreciate their historical significance.
For those who wish to be a part of the parade by driving their own tractor, simply gather at the Hayesville High School parking lot. An entry fee of $15 offers tractor owners a unique chance to proudly display their machinery and participate in this cherished tradition.
