Cynthia Lennertz

Cynthia Lennertz, 81, of Hayesville, formerly of Boynton Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 14, 2022 after a brave battle with cancer.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, David; children, Donna Sotillo (Mauricio), of West Palm Beach, Fla., Debra Mortensen (Robert), of Acworth, Ga. and David (Laurie), of Acworth; grandchildren, Garrett, Jillian, David, Kyle, Kiersten, Nolan and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Layla, Taryn, Sullivan and Avery; brothers, Craig and Robert Hill.

By profession she was a bookkeeper who insisted on keeping her mind active so she continued working even while going through treatment.

Cynthia was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, playing penny slots and was known to be a fierce canasta player and practical joker.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, July 25 at St. Catherine of Siena-Kennesaw, Ga. Interment will be 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 at Immaculate Heart of Mary-Hayesville.
