Dale Clyde Wood, 61, of Young Harris, Ga., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022.
He was born to the late Mr. Jule and Mrs. Donnie Ledford Wood in Hiawassee, Ga. on Aug. 18, 1961. Dale was a child of God and had a close relationship with him. He was a one of a kind man, funny, likable and always giving to people. He never met a stranger and would be instant friends with everyone. Dale enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and loved living in the mountains but most of all he loved spending time with his grandson.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Jule and Donnie Wood. He is survived by his beloved companion, Mary Cothern; son, Timothy Wood; grandson, Easton Dale Wood; sisters Glenda Hooper, Golda Koluder and Barbara Tucker along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dale will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral will held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home with Revs. Clark Moss and David Feathers officiating.
Burial will be at Lower Hightower.
Pallbearers are Adam Tucker, Dustin Hooper, Chris Phillips, Glen Hicks, Robert Mull and Landon Shook.
