Dale Marie Postell Garrison

Dale Garrison, 83, of Hayesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, March 4, 2023.

She was born in Andrews to the late George Garfield and Madge Marie White Postell and was the wife of the late Glen Henry Garrison, who died Aug. 20, 2009. Dale was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone she met. She was also a homemaker and gardener.

She was a lifetime member of Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews, but attended Moss Memorial Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by a son, William Henry Garrison who died June 10, 2021, two sisters, Maizie Jo Cutshaw and Elizabeth Trantham and a brother, Jack Postell.

Surviving is her son, Herman Garrison; daughter, Midge and husband, Dale Roach; daughter and faithful caregiver, Denise Garrison, all of Hayesville; two sisters, Becky Cutshaw, of Andrews and Susan Guffey and husband, Steve, of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, George Postell and wife, Trish and Pat Postell and wife, Margie, all of Andrews; grandchildren, Danielle West, Anna Grace and husband, David Owen and Matthew Roach; great-grandchildren, Adriona Shook and Liz Owen; and a special caregiver, Sabrina Huskins.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 at Moss Memorial Baptist Church, Hayesville, with the Rev. Charlie Shelton, Matthew Roach and Eddie Duckworth officiating. Music was provided by Matthew Roach. Pallbearers were Laney Cutshaw, Josh Postell, Robert and Danny Gee, David Owen and Spencer Woody. Honorary pallbearers were Preston Woody, Brandon Duckworth, Thomas Dixon, Melvin Swanson, Charlie Blaine, Ralph, Todd, Jamie and Matt Holland, Ronnie Smith, Randy Nichols and the men of Moss Memorial Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Moss Memorial Baptist Church cemetery following the service.

The family received friends from 2-3:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
