Donald Lee Crone

Mr. Donald Lee Crone, 75, of Warne, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. following an extended illness.

He was born in Clayton, Ga. on Nov. 3, 1946 to the late Ferd Estes and Burel Mae Dixon Crone. Mr. Crone loved to see his grandchildren excelling in life, he also loved working in flowers, gardening and fishing. He had worked as a carpenter. He was a member of Martin Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Crone was preceded in death by sisters, Rebecca Elvey and Diane Blankenship, and a brother, Larry Crone.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Crone, of Warne; step-children, Donna Gauthier, of Warne; Sandy and James Klauche, of Murphy, N.C., and Michael Anderson, of Warne; brothers, David and Harold Crone, of Clayton, Ga.; sisters, Cathy and Earl Thompson, of Clayton, and Linda and Keith Lyvers, of Hayesville; grandchildren, Aden and Kayne Anderson, John, Josh and Jared Burnette, Michael Gauthier, Nina Foxworth, Trey Anderson and Mckenzie Cook; great grandchild, Jaycee Burnette; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 25 at Bethel Baptist Church in Warne with Rev. Ricky Rogers officiating. Music was provided by the Nichols Family. Pallbearers were Dexter, Tommy and Jared Shook, Andrew Blankenship, Eric Giles and John Paul Burnette. Honorary pallbearers were Aden Anderson, Jared, Josh and John Burnette, Michael Gauthier and Kayne Anderson.

Interment was in the church cemetery. The family met with friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers you can make contributions to help defray expenses.
