Mrs. Doris Collins, 72, of Fain Branch Road, Blairsville, Ga., passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 following an extended illness.

She was born on July 29, 1947 in Hayesville, the daughter of the late Gerald and Fannie Mae Patton Burrell. Mrs. Collins was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, she truly loved her children and especially her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by grandson, Steven Collins; brother, Dick Burrell and a daughter, Susie Mae Doris Ashe. Mrs. Collins loved others, she quilted, sewed (was a seamstress), cooked, canned food, loved reading and taught Sunday School and Bible School for years. She was a faithful member of Old Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include her loving husband, Loyd Collins, of Blairsville; children, Machelle (Alan) Lovell, of Young Harris, Ga.; Melinda (Eddie) Rogers, of Cleveland, Ga.; Rondal (Charlene) Collins, of Gainesville, Ga.; Natasha (Ruel) Collins, of Hamilton, Mont.; Stacie (Gary) Harkins, of Blairsville; Kevin (Jaclyn) Collins, of Blairsville; grandchildren, Adam (Veronica) Gable, Patricia (Chris) Roberts, Johnathan Collins, Melissa (David) Davis, Wendi Collins, Jacob Duckworth, Lake Lovell, Jeremy Lovell, Haylee (fiancé Jake Kuykendall) Lovell, Sarah, William, Elizabeth, Dallas and Anna Collins; Stein and Tate Harkins; Camryn and Michael Hughes; Izabella, Fletcher and Levi Collins; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny (Joann) Burrell; Ronny (Bernice) Burrell; Kenny (Lois) Burrell; Bobby (Joy) Burrell and Tommy Burrell; sisters, Clara (James) Moss; Wanda Watkins, Geraline Lockaby, Shirley (Wallace) Chastain; Frances (Mike) Wilson; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Dolly Rogers, Martha Brown, Mary Seabolt and Opal Dyer; other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, July 19 at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade Plott and Rev. Dollie Rogers officiating. Eulogy was given by Stacie Harkins. Music was provided by Trackrock Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers were Kevin Collins, Lake and Jeremy Lovell, Stein Harkins, Jacob Kuykendall and Adam Gable. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Hughes, Tate Harkins, Fletcher, Levi and Johnathan Collins. Interment followed in Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, July 18.
