Dylan Scott Chastain, 23, of Brasstown, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, Oct. 26.

He was a native and lifetime resident of Brasstown. Dylan played football at Hayesville. He absolutely loved music and enjoyed classic rock, metal and 90’s alternative music. He shared his love of music with his late uncle Ricky Gibson. He was a kindhearted guy with a giving personality. Dylan welcomed new friends and adventures. He was a dare-devil who enjoyed a little danger, riding ATV’s and found serenity fishing the local creeks, rivers and lakes.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jackie Arlen Gibson and paternal grandparents, Phillip Woodrow Allen and Jeanette Naomi Underwood Chastain.

He was the son of David and Melissa Gibson Chastain, of Brasstown. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Kellan Isaac; two sisters, Kesha Chastain, of Brasstown, and Bethany Chastain and Russell Conley, also of Brasstown; and maternal grandmother, Wanda McClure Gibson, of Hayesville. He is also survived by his three nieces and nephews whom he loved like his own children, Lane Taylor, Paisley Fay and Trysta Janai, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31 at the Ivie Funeral Home in Hayesville, with the Rev. Israel Rogers officiating. Interment will take place at Moss Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
