George Barry Oliver

George Barry Oliver, 77, of Hayesville, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

He was born in Alabama to the late Earl James and Loretta Williams Oliver. Barry was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for SeaWorld as a safety and security guard. Barry was the former President of the Clay County Lion's Club and the Clay County Sheriff's Auxiliary. He was a member of the American Legion Post 532, of Hayesville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Brian Oliver.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Britt Oliver; one daughter, Lori Kathryn Johnson and husband Jay; one step-sister, Patricia Williams; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel, of Hayesville. Rev. John Bailey will officiate.
