Glen Teems
Glen Teems, 87 of Young Harris, Ga., passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022.
He was a native of Clay County and the son of the late Rolin and Ruby Dockery Teems. Glen was a U.S. Army veteran. He served in the Korean War. He was known as the "bread man" and worked for Earth Grain and Kern's. Later on, Glen became a special accountant for the Ingles Bread Program. He enjoyed playing golf and gardening. He was a member of the Clay Lodge 301 A.F. & A.M and Pine Log Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter in law, Renea Teems.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Frances Teems; one son, Stanley Teems, of Young Harris; one daughter, Glenda Clayton and husband, Billy, of Young Harris; one sister, Betty Nunn, of Thomaston, Ga; one grandson, Marcus Teems and wife Eman; and one great-granddaughter, Aya Teems.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Teems Family Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 96, Murphy, American Legion Post 532 Hayesville, VFW Post 6812, Hayesville and the Marine Corp League, Marble. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by the Clay Lodge 301 A.F. & A.M. Pallbearers will be Stanley Teems, Glenda Clayton, Marcus Teems, Billy Clayton, Lloyd Lee, Mike Holcomb and Robbie George. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Moore.
