Judy Melinda Patton Gentle

Judy Melinda Patton Gentle, 54, of Hayesville, passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, 2022.

Judy was born in Hiawassee, Ga. to the late Ralph and Annie Mae Allen Patton. She had been a head start teacher for 28 years which she loved. Judy also loved her family, baking cakes, her flowers, flower beds and her head start children. She was a member of Peachtree Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Patton.

Judy is survived by her husband, Scott Gentle, of 39 years; her sons, James Louis McKensie and wife, Amanda, Ryan Debarris, Levi Talc and wife, Lydia, and Spencer Austin Caleb; her brother, David Lynn Patton and wife, Terry; her sister, Patricia Wells; her grandchildren, Calab Gentle, Christinia Gentle, James Michael Andrew Gentle, Amelia Grace Gentle, Toby Scott Gentle and Henry Reece Gentle; and her nieces and nephews, Breanna, Tiffany, Dusty, Wendy, Sara, Destiny, Amber, Melissa, Stacia, Natasha and Aaron and Derrick Patton.

A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Peachtree Church of Christ. Rev. Larry Bryson, Minister Jim Carroll and Kyle Cody will officiate. Burial is at Peachtree Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers are  Michael Carroll, Derrick Gaddis, Justin Gaddis, Robert Rogers, Jason Gentle and Reggie Gentle. Honorary pallbearers are Timmy Jones, Daniel Sherlin and Brian Gentle.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23 prior to the funeral service at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
