Karen Rose Cook, 67 of Marble, N.C., passed away Feb. 11, 2022 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Mrs. Cook was born Sept. 6, 1954, in Deridder, La. to the late Lester Moore and the late Billie Jean Henson. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Christopher Lockett, and her brother, Donnie Goudy.
Survivors include her husband, David Lionel Cook; daughters, Lisa Kotchenreuther and Michelle Updike; sister, Jeri Vick and brother, Jon Moore; grandchildren, Dustin White, Jeffery Updike, Brittany Updike, Ashley Lockett and Elizabeth Allen, eight great-grandchildren and her pet pug, Edgar.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16 at the Cochran Funeral Home, of Murphy, with the Rev. Steven Soulen officiating. Music was provided by Trey and Julia Rogers. Interment followed in Vengeance Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dustin White, Jeffery Updike, Trevor Grant, Gary Rogers, Jeff Updike and Mike Corn. Honorary pallbearers were Efrain Corn and Ray Smith.
The family received friends from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy.
