Marilyn Cooper McCollum, 91, of Hayesville, died peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. She was born in Lincoln Park, Mich. to the late Harry and Violet Cornell Cooper. Marilyn had worked as a receptionist in a doctor's office. Marilyn was a member of Mountain of Faith Church. She played piano at church and was involved with music her whole life.
Marilyn was also preceded in death by her husband, James McCollum; and a sister, Beverly Noder.
Surviving are two sons, David McCollum and wife, Patricia, and Donald McCollum and wife, Lorraine; grandchildren, Jonathan David McCollum and wife, Elana, Daniel Mark McCollum and wife, Jamie, and Timothy Lloyd McCollum and wife, Julianne; great-grandchildren, Emma, Nicholas, Maryn, Elias, Everett, Mateo and Lucas and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Hayesville Baptist-Presbyterian Cemetery with Rev. Tim Jones officiating.
