Mr. Michael Craig Land, age 39, of Blairsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Michael was born on October 8, 1981 in Hiawassee, GA., the son of Michael Scotty Land and Susan Denise Land. Mikey loved baseball, football, and wrestling. He also loved people, music, and animals. He never met a stranger and was loved by so many. He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, and most of all a born-again Christian. Michael was a member of The Ridge Community Church.
Surviving Michael are his loving wife and best friend, April Raper Land of Blairsville, his children, Madelyn and C.J. Land, his parents, Scott and Susan Land, one sister Amy Land all of Blairsville, his grandmother, Kathleen Lands of Murphy. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 3:00 pm at West Union Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Pope and Rev. Paul Ray Morgan officiating. Special music will be presented by Tim Nicholson. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Tracy Parker, Casey Parker, Eric Deaver, Heath Henderson, Clinton Raper, and Cory Raper. The following gentleman will serve as honorary pallbearers, Kenny Warren, Walt Jackson, James Mashburn, Johnny Beavers, Cecil Shook, and Michael Romesberg. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to a favorite charity of your choice in Michael’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
