Michelle Stewart Ledford

Michelle Stewart Ledford, 56, of Hayesville, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in a Gainesville, Ga. hospital. She had spent most of her life in Clay County. She worked as an accountant for McKinney Heating & Air for 18 years. She later obtained her CPA license from Western Carolina University and worked for Strickland & Associates for several years. Michelle was a devoted Christian and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of John Stewart, of Hayesville.

She was preceded in death by her significant other, Nick Crawford.

Surviving, in addition to her father, are her son, Nicholas Craig Ledford and wife, Anissa, of Hiawassee, Ga.; two brothers, John Stewart Jr., of Greenville, S.C. and Tommy Stewart, of Hayesville; two nieces, Candice Blakeslee and Tabitha Moore.

A graveside service was held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021 at Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev Chris Rumfelt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Michelle Stewart Ledford to the First Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 1232, Hayesville, N.C. 28904 or Many Forks Baptist Church, 9890 Gum Log Road, Young Harris, Ga. 30582.
