Mirtha Cobb

Mirtha Cobb, 88, passed away peacefully in Charlottesville, Va. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022 after a long illness with congestive heart failure.  She was born Nov. 6, 1933 in Mar del Plata, Argentina to Raul and Aida Barrios. She married her love, Bill Cobb, in 1958 who preceded her in death in 2001. Her son, William Cobb, preceded her in death in 2006.

Mirtha loved people and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Mirtha’s outgoing and friendly personality brought a smile to all who had the honor of knowing her. Her calling as a seamstress brought happiness to many people when wearing the finished and altered clothing, courtesy of Mirtha. Mirtha’s faith in God comforts all who mourn her loss. Her unfaltering faith was evident in how she lived her life, helping and loving all she encountered.

Mirtha is survived by her son, Charles (Denise); daughter, Doris Wissinger; grandchildren, Garrett Moore, Corey Wissinger (Whitney), Kimberly Tanner (Christopher); great-grandchildren, Rylee Flanary, Lilly Jones, Liam McHan, Oliver Tanner, Jackson and Lane Wissinger.

A celebration of Mirtha’s amazing life will be held this spring, in Murphy, N.C.
