Tammy Lynn Cheeks, 49, of Hayesville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022. She was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. Tammy had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Mountain Home Nursing for several years. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, bird watching and crossword puzzles. Tammy was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert Neal Cheeks.

Tammy was the daughter of Donald and Linda Stroud Cheeks, of Hayesville. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Hannah Cheeks, of Hayesville, and Kristen Coker, of Hiawassee, Ga.; a son, Dalton Coker and wife, Kayleigh, of Hayesville; two brothers, Tim Cheeks and wife, Shanda, and Charlie Cheeks and wife, Lynae, all of Hayesville; and one granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Shannon Burrell officiating. Music was provided by Charlie and Lynae Cheeks, Brandon Coker and Joe Forrister. The interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim, Charlie, Tanner and Landon Cheeks, Steve “Doc” Sellers and Michael Harris.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
