It makes you feel good when you go out in public and your dog is trained. Training helps to keep your dog from getting bored, Training helps to strengthen the bond between dog and owner. If you plan to keep your dog for its lifetime how much happier that time will be if your dog is trained. A trained dog is a confident dog which makes him/her a better citizen in this world of people and animals.

So many benefits of having a well-trained dog:

• You will understand your dog better, making you a better owner.

• Controlling your dog will keep it safe Trained dogs rarely bolt out of control therefore keeping safe from traffic. Heaven forbid that if your dog is lost it will be in a better situation for adoption.

• If your dog respects boundaries and behaves well in public, the public will appreciate your dog more.

• If you ever need to board your dog with friends or at a facility, a well-behaved dog will be appreciated making future trips a possibility.

• Never stop training your dog and remember that you can train a dog at any age.

A well-behaved dog has less stress and you have less stress. Your dog will interact better with people and other animals. A well-behaved dog is less likely to end up in a rescue situation.

If you have the opportunity to train your dog, do it.

The dog obedience class that I train at “Walk with Me” dog training is associated with The Celebration of Pets is getting ready to start. All proceeds from the class goes directly to the eight rescue that is supported by the Celebration of Pets.
