The Hayesville High School Yellow Jackets baseball team received significant recognition from the Smoky Mountain Conference following another successful season, with numerous players earning conference honors and awards.
The Yellow Jackets were well represented across the conference awards, highlighting the talent, dedication and teamwork that helped make Hayesville one of the conference's top programs this season. Hayesville earned two of the conference's highest individual honors, as Jackson Sellers was named Smoky Mountain Conference Player of the Year and Brady Reynolds was selected as Smoky Mountain Conference Pitcher of the Year.
The Yellow Jackets also placed four players on the Smoky Mountain Conference All-Conference Team. Those selections included Adrian Fuentes, Peyton McGaha, Ben Bethel and Rob Barter. In addition, Rhett Sellers and Landon Cheeks were recognized as Smoky Mountain Conference Honorable Mention selections.
While the individual awards are certainly noteworthy, they are also a reflection of the success of the entire Hayesville baseball program. The recognition received by players throughout the roster speaks to the depth, hard work and commitment demonstrated by the team throughout the season.
Having multiple players earn All-Conference honors, along with the conference's top player and top pitcher awards, underscores the strength of the Yellow Jackets and their continued tradition of excellence within one of Western North Carolina's most competitive baseball conferences.
These accomplishments are a testament not only to the athletes but also to the coaching staff, whose leadership helped guide the team through another memorable season. The honors serve as recognition of the countless hours of practice, preparation and teamwork that contributed to the program's success.
The Clay County community has much to celebrate as these student-athletes continue to uphold the proud tradition of Yellow Jacket baseball and represent Hayesville High School with excellence both on and off the field.
