The Smoky Mountain Conference Middle School Championships took place on Monday, April 25 at Robbinsville. The Lady Jackets of Hayesville earned the  SMC title for first place which included several school records set by the young athletes.

Girls’ results:

Triple jump: Emma Ashe, first place; Ava Shook, second place (set new school record); Leah Thomas, sixth place.

100 meters: Kadence Morrow, third place; Callie Long, 12th place.

200 meters: Ava Shook, first place; Emma Ashe, fourth place; Kaydence Morrow, fifth place.

400 meters: Emma Ashe, first place; Briley Clampitt, third place; Khylei Alberta , sixth place.

800 meters: Savannah Burch, sixth place, Raelynn Wood, eighth place; Sydney Greenstone, ninth place.

1600 meters: Savannah Burch, third place; Raelynn Wood, fourth place; Sydney Greenstone, seventh place.

100m hurdles: Briley Clampitt, second place; Skylar, fourth place; Olivia Giddens, fifth place.

4x100 relay: Kadence Morrow, Skylar Lockaby, Leah Thomas, and Marlo Joyce: second place.

4x200 relay: Ava Shook, Emma Ashe, Kadance Morrow, Olivia Gidden: first place with new school record 1:55.50.

4x400 relay: Alexia Fields, Briley Clampitt, Khylei Alberta, and Skylar Lockaby: third place place setting new school record 4:57.07.

4x800 relay: Savannah Burch, Sydney Greenstone, Alexia Fields, Raelynn Wood, second place 11:36.09

High jump: Ava Shook, first place setting school record 5-1; Olivia Giddens, second place.

Long jump: Skyler Lockaby, fourth place; Leah Thomas, sixth place; Olivia Giddens, seventh place.

Triple jump: Emma Ashe, first place; Ava Shook, second place set new school record 31-7; Leah Thomas, sixth place.

Shot put: Blaire Hedden, third place, Madalynn Nemkovich, fourth place; Emilia Lackey, eighth place.

Discus throw: Blaire Hedden, first place; Emilia Lackey, second place; Lily Dockery, eighth place.

Girls team scores: Hayesville, first place 181; Swain, second place 126; Robbinsville, third place 80; Murphy, fourth place 76; Andrews, fifth place 69; Martins Creek, sixth place 18; Cherokee, seventh place 16.

The Hayesville Middle School boys finished in second place at the SMC Meet and new records were set by Will Brown in the Shot put; Jonah Webb, in the triple jump, 400-meter 110-meter hurdles, and long jump. Tre Graves, Jack Dorsey, Raul Rivera and Peyton set new school record in the 4x100; Micah Moss, Hayden Hunt, Jackson Dye, and Noah Carter set new school record in the 4x800 relay. The middle school boys’ results are as follows:

100 meters: Payton McGaha, fifth place; Tre Graves, fifth place; Raul Rivera-Preto.

200 meters: Payton McGaha, fifth place; Ben Bethel, sixth place; Jack Dorsey, ninth place.

400 meters: Johan Webb, second place; Raul Rivera -Prieto, sixth place.

800 meters: Jackson Sellers, sixth place; Micah Moss, ninth place; Parker Hughes, 14th place.

1600 meter: Noah Carter, fifth place; Jackson Dye, sixth place; Micah Moss, eighth place.

110-meter hurdles: Johan Webb, first place; Colton Bruggers, fourth place, Braden Thompson, 10th place.

1600 meter: Noah Carter, fifth place; Jackson Dye, sixth place; Micah Moss, eighth place.

4x100 relay: Tre Graves, Jack Dorsey, Raul Rivera-Prieto and Peyton McGaha, second place setting new school record with 47.8

4x 200 relay: Tre Graves, Peyton McGaha, Jack Dorsey, Ben Bethel, second place.

4x400 relay: Ben Bethel, Rau Rivera-Prieto, EJ Abrams and Colton Bruggers, first place.

4x800 relay: Micah Moss, Hayden Hunt, Jackson Dye, Noah Carter, fifth place setting new school record 10:40.30.

Long jump: Johan Webb, second place setting new school record 18:4.75; Colton Bruggers, sixth place.

Triple jump: John Webb, second place setting new school record 36-0.; Branden Thompson, 10th place.

Shot put: Will Brown, first place setting new school record 41-0; Landon Trout, fourth place; EJ Abrams 7tth place.
