Lady Jackets takes a tough blow from Macon

HMS Lady Jackets couldn't keep up with Macon County Middle School Girls and fell 23-3 on Tuesday, March 28. In the top of the first inning, MMS girls got their offense started.

Layla Maloy drove in one when Maloy tripled. In the bottom of the first, the Lady Jackets tied things up with three. MMS pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third, Kamden Reis singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Soon after, an error scored two more runs for MMS. Later in the fourth inning, MMS girls scored 9 additional runs. Chloe Lambert, Audrey Pressley, Suzanna Cabe, Alyssa Awtrey and Kyelynn Hervey all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Cabe was on the rubber for MMS and allowed two hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Jasmine Brooks started on the rubber for the HMS Lady Jackets and allowed 13 hits and 23 runs over four and a third innings, striking out seven, Micalynn McClure threw two-thirds of an inning relief out of the bullpen.

McClure led Hayesville Middle School girls with two hits and three at bats. MMS girls scattered 13 hits in the game. The MMS girls tore up the base paths as eight players stole at least two bases.

Swain Away Game

Hayesville Middle School Lady Jackets claim victory over Swain Middle School girls. HMS girls scored more runs than the SMS girls and bought home a win on Friday, March 31.

Jasmine Brooks pitched the HMS Lady Jackets to victory, surrendering one run on six hits over seven innings. Brooks had eight strikeouts. Braelyn M started the game for the SMS Lady Maroon Devils, allowing four hits and three runs over three innings, striking out five. Aria threw the remaining four innings out of the bullpen.

HMS Lady Jackets racked up six hits throughout the game. Micalynn McClure and Jasmine Brooks both had two hits to lead the Lady Jackets. The entire game, the HMS Lady Jackets didn’t commit a single error in the field. Caroline Wade had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

SMS Lady Maroon Devils had six hits in the game. Swain Middle School also didn’t commit a single error in the field.
