The Gladson Family will perform at the Brasstown Community Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the band starts to entertain at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7. Adult admission is $10 and no admission for children under 12. Hot dogs, chicken and dumplings and peach cobbler will be available for purchase.
The Gladson family resides in Hancock County, Tenn. and plays various styles of traditional music, including old time fiddling, gospel singing and traditional bluegrass. The family keeps the authentic spirit of music alive by performing regularly at heritage events, festivals, revivals and funerals. They also carry on the tradition by teaching traditional music through the Hancock Junior Appalachian Musicians program. The children, Harlen, 17; Lindy, 15, and Lemuel, 13, have grown up playing multiple string instruments and harmony singing with their family.
