Coming to the Peacock Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28 is the 54th edition of our beloved Songwriters Showcase series. Hosted by local favorite Rob Tiger, this series has become a cherished tradition, known for its warm atmosphere and exceptional talent. The three musicians visiting for this weekend’s show are Daniel Kimbro, Sam Lewis and Tim Nave.
Based in east Tennessee, Daniel Kimbro is a world-class bassist, guitarist, singer and songwriter whose roots in bluegrass, jazz and Americana give his music a rich, grounded sound. Known for his versatility and sharp musical instincts, he’s shared stages with icons like Jerry Douglas and James Taylor. Expect a set filled with groove, depth and a little Appalachian humor.
Based in Nashville, Sam Lewis is an Americana singer-songwriter with a gift for spinning deeply human stories. Often described as a “modern Townes Van Zandt,” Lewis blends southern groove, psychedelic soul and folk storytelling into a sound that’s both laid-back and emotionally rich. His songs explore life’s beauty and complexity with heart and insight.
Hailing from Carter County, Tenn., Tim Nave — also known as TAKAT, The Artist Known As Tim — brings a raw, Appalachian edge to experimental folk. Nave's work, rich in storytelling and shaped by the hills that raised him, explores the pain of unspoken stories and the power of choosing joy.
