Early voting in second GOP primary election underway

The statewide Republican Party second primary election is scheduled Tuesday, May 14. Early voting continues at the Clay County Board of Elections Office, 75 Riverside Circle, Suite 3, through Saturday, May 11.

Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Voters also can vote between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m on May 11, the only Saturday remaining for early voting.

Only four candidates are on the ballot for two positions: Jim O'Neill and Hal Weatherman for N.C. lieutenant governor and Dave Boliek and Jack Clark for N.C. auditor.

All voters who are registered Republicans are eligible to vote in this primary. Voters who are unaffiliated with any party and voted Republican or who did not vote in the first primary are also eligible.

Voters will be asked to show photo identification.
