    The 2024 Friday Summer Concert Series gets even sweeter on Friday, July 5 when Clay County Communities Revitalization Association welcomes Sugah & Thuh Cubes back to the Historic Courthouse/Beal Center gazebo on the square.

    Based in Cherokee, N.C.  Sugah & Thuh Cubes entertains with a fiery brand of smoky, sweet, high energy Soul, R&B and Blues. Lead vocalist Phyllis “Sugah” Shell will be joined by Mike Parker, guitar; Don Patten, bass; Kasey Reagan, drums and Craig Summers, keyboard and vocals. Crowd interaction is key for the band. They do their best to create an exciting entertainment experience for everyone. No doubt, the Friday night crowd will be dancing on the lawn, just like last year.

    This holiday weekend concert starts the second half of the 2024 CCCRA Friday Summer Concert Series. Mark your calendars for the three remaining concerts on July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 16. CCCRA is grateful for the support of three key community sponsors this year: Highway 69 Storage, The Richard Kelley Group - RE/MAX Town & Country and Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Jodi Sullivan. Because of generous sponsors CCCRA can offer these terrific concerts free to our community.

    Free parking is available around the square and in area parking lots. You don’t even have to walk — just flag down our version of mass transit — Historic Hayesville Inc.’s Red Rider golf cart, to get a lift to the square and back to your car.

    Come hungry and thirsty and support our locals. Laughing Dogs Brewing will offer beer, wine and cider. The American Legion Auxiliary will be selling freshly grilled hot dogs and popcorn to raise funds for veterans and the Pic-A-Nick Basket Deli will offer two delicious sandwich options. Find your perfect spot on the lawn to set up your chairs or blankets with your family and friends. Food and beverage service starts at 6 p.m. and music at 7 p.m.
