Erlanger deploys LIFE FORCE to aid in hurricane disaster relief for 5th consecutive year

For the fifth year in a row, an Erlanger LIFE FORCE air ambulance and seven crew members have been deployed to assist with national hurricane disaster relief efforts.

LIFE FORCE 1 along with two flight paramedics, two flight nurses, two pilots, and a mechanic have been deployed to Baton Rouge, La., awaiting a further assignment from FEMA to assist as needed. The teams were mobilized as part of the air ambulance response teams with Global Medical Response (GMR). GMR is FEMA’s emergency medical service response provider and has a national agreement with FEMA to provide ground ambulance, air ambulance, paratransit services, and non-ambulance EMS personnel to supplement the Federal and Military response to a disaster, an act of terrorism or any other public health emergency.

“I am very proud of our team and their willingness to serve during this difficult time and provide much-needed medical services to our neighbors who were hit hard by the hurricane,” said Robbie Tester, Senior Director of LIFE FORCE. "Our team never fails to respond when asked to support when disaster strikes."

Erlanger’s LIFE FORCE crews have assisted with relief efforts with Hurricanes Harvey, Florence, Dorian, and several others over the past four years, and now with Hurricane Ida.
