Family visiting from Cumming, Ga.

A visit to the lake turned tragic on July 15 when a 5-year-old boy died from an apparent accidental drowning in Lake Chatuge.
According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office posting on Facebook, the boy had been reported missing at about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
When deputies arrived they said the child had been pulled from the lake by a family member, according to the press release.
Deputies and fire personnel who had arrived on the scene immediately begin CPR.
The child was taken to Chatuge Regional Hospital where he died later that afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.
The press release further stated, “Investigation revealed the child had been missing for about 10 minutes and apparently had wandered into the lake where he was found by a family member.”
The family was in Towns County visiting at a rental home. They are from Cumming, Ga.
