Shortly after 12 p.m. Sunday, March 10, Sgt. Steven Smith with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop on a blue, Toyota Rav4 in Brasstown that resulted in charges along with the seizure of alleged methamphetamine, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. Assisting in the vehicle stop were Clay County deputies Donovan Burke and Rafael Medina.

Smith knew the driver, Christian Zachary Moore, had an invalid North Carolina drivers license. While speaking to Moore about the license, Smith noticed Moore was very nervous and visibly shaking.

Moore and the occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle for further investigation. Smith deployed K9 Luca around the vehicle and Luca gave a positive alert of a known narcotic odor coming from inside the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, three baggies of suspected methamphetamine were located inside the glove-box weighing approximately 10.11 grams.

Moore, 30, of Brasstown, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver methamphetamine. He was placed under no bond because he was already out on bond for other criminal matters.
