Want to have a rocking good time and help improve Jackrabbit Mountain Trails at the same time? No problem. Clay County Communities Revitalization Association invites you to join us at the Peacock Performing Arts Center at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 for FreeBird — The Ultimate Lynyrd Skynyrd Experience with opening act Bull Street.
For more than 21 years, CCCRA, in collaboration with Southern Appalachian Bicycling Association and the U.S. Forest Service, have built more than 23 miles of world-class mountain bike and hiking trails at the Jackrabbit Recreation Area on Lake Chatuge. The area offers a comfort station, grills, picnic tables, bike maintenance station and bike washing station. There is one more major improvement on the plan — a picnic shelter.
The shelter, to be located at the JRTS trail-head — a no-fee area enjoyed by residents and visitors will serve as a rest spot for bikers and hikers, an outdoor classroom for learning, a venue for church and school outings, deliver shade for families seeking outdoor recreation and provide protection when the weather turns foul.
FreeBird is The Ultimate Lynyrd Skynyrd Experience. With decades of professional experience, including world tours, record label deals and thousands of shows, FreeBird's members have been in love with the music since childhood and play with the same passion and intensity of Lynyrd Skynyrd themselves. You'll be blown away by hit after hit of incredible music and amazing players. FreeBird brings all the magic to life in a way only matched by the original band. You'll dance, you'll sing, you will have the time of your life and be contributing to a great cause.
