Survey Shows Thanksgiving Dinner Cost Up 14%

Farm Bureau's 36th annual survey indicates the average cost of this year's classic Thanksgiving feast for 10 is $53.31 or less than $6.00 per person. This is a $6.41 or 14% increase from last year's average of $46.90.

Odor-Eaters Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall

Odor-Eaters, owned by Blistex Inc., is voluntarily recalling a total of forty-one lots of two Odor-Eaters spray products to the consumer level due to the presence of benzene. Internal testing identified low levels of benzene contamination in specific lots of these aerosol products.

General Assembly releases N.C. budget plan, including input from Cooper

The N.C. General Assembly will begin votes Tuesday on the newly-released 2021-23 conference budget. The 2021-22 budget plan of $25.9 billion represents a 4.3% increase over the previous plan. The fiscal 2022-23 portion of the biennial plan is $27 billion, and the state’s rainy day fund grows to $4.
