Congratulations to Savannah Burch, junior setter for the Hayesville Lady Jackets, on being named Smoky Mountain Conference Specialist of the Year.
A specialist in volleyball is a player who excels in a specific role — often the setter, libero or defensive expert— someone who’s the backbone of the team’s success through skill, consistency and smart play.
As the team’s setter, Burch runs the offense — reading the court, setting up hitters and keeping the team in rhythm.
This season she recorded 912 assists, 216 digs and 33 aces.
Her leadership, hustle and court vision make her a true difference maker for the Lady Jackets

• Ava Shook, senior with 346 kills, 49 aces and 231 digs.
• Olivia Giddens, senior with 257 kills and 56 total blocks.
• Graesyn Williamson, senior with 328 kills and 101 digs.
