Friday night was doubly special for Hayesville High School. Prior to the girls’ game, Ava Shook was recognized for scoring her 1,000th point. Coach Tammy Dills presented the star with a commemorative basketball while former Coach Chad McClure looked on. Brady Jones took centerstage in the nightcap by blistering the net with six 3-pointers in one quarter, a feat only four players have accomplished in the history of North Carolina prep basketball. Teammate Kyle Shaheen, No. 3, celebrates with Jones after the final horn sounded in Hayesville's rout of Blue Ridge Early College. See Gary Corsair's story inside for more details.
