On Friday, May 9 the Hayesville High School Track team competed at the NCHSAA 1A West Regional 2025 in Columbus, N.C.
For the girls, Ava Shook, Sydney Greenstone, Savannah Burch and Raelynn Wood got fourth place in the 4x800 meter relay with the time of 10:22.70.
For shot put they had two boys qualify, Will Brown got third place with 47 feet 4 inches and E.J. Mapasua got fourth place with 43 feet 8 inches. In the triple jump, Cooper Matheson got fourth place with 39 feet 3.75 inches. For the boys relay team, Kenyon Rogers-Gibby, Jack Dorsey, Daniel Allen and Elio Murillo got fourth place in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 44.51. They also placed in the 4x200 in third place with a time of 1:32.11. These guys also broke the school record in the 4x200.
These students are headed to the state this Friday in Greensboro.
