Last week, the Hayesville Youth League traveled to Murphy for a two-day Christmas Tournament and delivered an unforgettable performance, as all four Hayesville teams captured championship titles.
The tournament kicked off Friday with a dominant showing across the board. Every Hayesville team won its opening game and advanced to the championship round, setting the stage for a perfect weekend.
The Termite Girls opened tournament play with a shutout victory over Peachtree/Martins Creek, winning 16-0. They carried that momentum into the championship game, where they faced Ranger in a hard-fought battle and secured the title with a 20-12 victory.
The Termite Boys faced Andrews on Friday in an intense matchup that tested both teams’ determination. Hayesville emerged victorious and advanced to the championship game against Murphy. In the final, the Termite Boys rose to the occasion and claimed the championship with a strong performance.
The Mite Girls also put on an offensive showcase, defeating Ranger on Friday with a commanding 39-18 win. In the championship game, they faced Murphy and continued their dominant run, earning a 24-13 victory to take home the title.
The Mite Boys completed the sweep, advancing to the final round after a Friday win. On Saturday, they faced Murphy and finished the tournament on a high note, sealing another championship for Hayesville.
With all four teams crowned champions, the Murphy Christmas Tournament will be remembered as a standout weekend for Hayesville Youth League — highlighting the athletes’ hard work, teamwork and determination.
