Do you enjoy watching Hayesville High School basketball? Did you play basketball at Hayesville?
Then Hayesville High School Student Council has an event for you — the Hayesville High School Alumni Basketball Game.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, the Hayesville High School Gym will be the site of the HHS Basketball Alumni game. The game will pit players from the HHS Class of 2023 and previous graduating classes on teams against each other — alumni versus alumni. Only Hayesville alumni will be competing, but current school staff who are also alumni may be some of those on the courts.
In addition, the group will sell T-shirts with a "Hoops for Hope" design on front, along with individual and business sponsors on the back. While the concession stand will not be open, water and small snacks will be sold. All proceeds will be going to the two families.
Alumni who are interested should email Landon Trout: Lctrout1527@gmail.com. Trout explained how the co-ed game will work. "It will be eight minute quarters with a running clock and a 10-minute halftime," he said. "It will be scored differently though. Since the game is coed, any point scored by a girl will count as one more. For example, a girls layup will count as three points and a girls three pointer will count as four points."
Entry is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
