It felt as if autumn had come early on Tuesday, Aug. 5 and with the cool breeze, we had a comfortable day for golf.
The game was against all odds and Martha Zimmer was the winner of the first flight. Mary Mott came in second. The winner of the second flight was Debra Estes and Linda Miles came in second. Zimmer had a chip-in on the 10th hole and Mott had a chip-in on hole seven. Zimmer and Linda Miles had lowest putts in flight one and two, respectively.
The shot of the day was the chip-in mentioned above by Zimmer. She had a 34-yard approach shot over the water to reach the green. Her ball landed about 10 feet from the pin and gently rolled into the hole giving her a par. This was on the infamous H10th hole, so it was cause for a lot of celebration.
