Brady Reynolds conducted a long-distance shooting clinic at Hiwassee Dam Tuesday in lifting Hayesville’s JV boys basketball team to an impressive 56-34 win.

Reynolds scored 22 points on seven three-pointers in a spectacular display of sweet shooting in which he swished four of his final five tries from behind the arch.

Brandon Lynch added 9 points, while Landon Trout scored 8. Damien Soto added 5 points. E.J. Abrams, Brady Jones, and Peyton McGaha scored 4 apiece.

“I thought we played much better. The boys played hard. I feel like we are back on the right track. Hiwassee Dam can be a hard place to win,” Hayesville Coach Zach Cottrell said.

Hayesville rolled to a 22-11 first-quarter lead and pushed the advantage to 32-16 by halftime.

The Yellow Jackets didn’t let up in the second half. Reynolds had five of his three-pointers after the intermission, Jones and Soto both had a pair of steals, Johann Webb collected four boards and had a steal, McGaha grabbed three defensive rebounds, four total, and Trout pulled down four boards.
