The combination of poor free throw shooting and the inability to stop Franklin’s Finley Moffitt spelled defeat for the Hayesville JV girls basketball team Thursday.
The Lady Jackets made just 3-of-11 freebies in a 38-22 loss to the visiting Panthers, who took an early lead and never looked back as Moffitt went for 16 points.
Ava Moore led the Hayesville charge with 8 points in three quarters. Aaliyah Jackson and Kaydence Morrow tallied 5 points apiece.
Micalynn McClure contributed a 3-pointer and Jasmine Brooks added a free throw.
