The Mountain Harbor Ladies Golf Association enjoyed a boutique size group of members Thursday, July 9 with 11 participants in the two best net ball contest on even holes.
Coming in first place with a 71 and winning $4.50 each was the team of Nancy Outlaw, Martha Zimmer, Jean Sullivan and Vicki Hough.
Jean Sullivan was the lone chip-in winner by chipping in on par 4 hole 2. Her teammates report that she had a great shot up to green but just off from the left side above the pin, with the pin down front and center. She took one swipe and lucked out because it was a hot one, but the flagstick stopped her plink in the hole. She took home an extra $5.50 from the chip in collections. Also, from that foursome, Vicki Hough enjoyed a spectacular birdie on par 3 hole 15 by placing her drive within 3 ft of the flag stick and sank the putt.
Nipping at their heels in second place with a 72 and $3 each went to the team of Ann Chotiner, Linda Davenport, Pat Westbrook and Kay Kirkland.
Next week’s game is Cha-Cha-Ch which is a team format.
