Cruisers to open August with a show

By Dick Couture / Guest writer

The Blairsville Cruisers will host a cruise-in at the Union County Farmers Market from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 3-7 p.m. Approximately 100 vehicles are expected to register for the event. Entries from north Georgia and western North Carolina will round out a display of street rods, classics, antiques, trucks and specialty vehicles.

Awards will include a “Best Original Classic” plaque. An unmodified original or a restored to original factory specs will compete for this award. Two “Club Choice” trophies will also be awarded as well as a 50/50 drawing for cash. There are no fees for entry of vehicles as well as no charge for spectators. Donations will be appreciated for our needy kids Christmas programs and may be made at the registration table during the event.

The Blairsville Cruisers Car Club is a 501-c-3 non profit. The Cruisers, their sponsors and supporters have contributed to the community since 2007 with scholarships and donations to various local organizations, especially programs for needy children and their families at Christmas.
