On Monday, March 17 the Hayesville Middle School boys ran a track meet at home winning it with 113 points. Here's how the athletes fared:
High jump: Eli Cheeks, third place with 5 feet.
Long jump: Henry Wadsworth, second place with 15 feet 11 inches.
Triple jump: Eli Cheeks, first place with 35 feet 4.50 inches; Dustin Lockaby, fourth place with 29 feet 10 inches.
Discus throw: Tucker Moore, sixth place with 75 feet 3.50 inches.
Shot put: Caden McClure, first place with 41 feet 6 inches; Luke Buckner, second place with 35 feet 2 inches; Tucker Moore, fourth place with 33 feet 1.50 inches.
4x800 meter relay: Porter Hood, Colton Crawford, Garrison Boyer and Evan Burks, third place with 10:44.31; Eli Danico, Ian Herrada, Weston Bavaro and Caiden Curtis, fourth place with 11:27.54.
110 meter hurdles: Henry Wadsworth, seventh place with 21.91.
100 meter dash: Brett Hanna, first place with 12.00; Caleb Gibbons, second place with 12.55; Caden McClure, fourth place with 12.98; Ethan Beechum, fifth place with 13.03.
4x200 meter relay: Carson Finn, Luke Dockery, Ethan Beechum and Brett Hanna, first place with 1:49.39.
1600 meter run: Porter Hood, second place with 5:37.72, Colton Crawford, fifth place with 6:05.83.
4x100 meter relay: Bentley Everette, Luke Dockery, Carson Finn and Caden McClure, 54.44, They were disqualified due to not handing off in the handoff zone.
400 meter dash: Brett Hanna, first place with 54.92, breaking Hayesvilles’ current record. Caleb Gibbons, third place with 59.45; Stephen Sommer, fourth place with 1:03.69; Ethan Beechum, fifth place with 1:05.71.
800 meter run: Eli Cheeks, second place with 2:16.30; Evan Burks, fifth place with 2:37.87.
200 meter dash: Brett Hanna, first place with 25.02, Bentley Everette, fifth place with 28.42.
4x400 meter relay: Ethan Beechum, Stephen Sommer, Carson Finnm and Eli Cheeks, first place with 4:21.00; Henry Wadsworth, Camden Taylor, Liam Garner and Dustin Lockaby, fourth with 4:41.63.
