Seth Hedden and Connor Pullum will represent Hayesville High School in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 1A West Golf Regional, which is quite a feat for a school unable to compete in tournaments in recent years.
Hedden and Pullum qualified for the Thursday, May 18 regional due to their superb scores in the two-day Smoky Mountain Conference Tournament, in which Hayesville placed fifth.
Hedden led the Yellow Jackets in the SMC showcase, shooting 84 and 85 to finish fifth overall and earn a spot on the SMC All-Conference Team.
Sending two golfers to the regional is icing on the cake for Coach Will Penland.
“Overall, the golf team had a great season,” Penland said. “We had three golfers returning from the 2022 season and added three new members that contributed a great deal.”
Hedden and Pullum were joined on the HHS team by Jacob Christiansen, Tyler Fuller, Wyatt James and Will Jennings.
