Hayesville High golfers post personal best during season

    The 2022 Hayesville High School Men’s golf team consists of team members Zac Anderson, Josh Collins, Tyler Fuller, Seth Hedden, Nathan Plemmons and Connor Pullum. The team had a productive season with each golfer officially posting their personal best nine-hole score during our regular season.

    Anderson, Pullum and Hedden each individually qualified for this year’s SMC 36 hole golf championship. Anderson -  120/115 and Pullum - 121/114 both posted second round scores that bettered their first day totals for the two-day event. Hedde -  98/91 earned SMC Honorable-Mention recognition and qualified for the 1A West Regional tournament at Mountain Glen Country Club in Newland, N.C.

    After a rough start on Hedden's first three holes in the regional tournament, he quickly got things back on track and played the last 15 holes at 5 over par. He finished with a final score of 84 which placed him in a tie for the final individual state tournament qualifying spot. However, he had to withdraw from the playoff due to the fact that he was half way through the journey home when he received the notifying call. Tough break. With no seniors on this year’s team, the golfing future looks bright for HHS.
