Hayesville High track team competes in state championship

    The NCHSAA 1A State Championship Track Meet was held on Monday, May 20 after a rain cancellation on Friday the 17. Nine members of the Hayesville High School track team were eligible to compete.

    The results are:

    • Taylor McClure - second place, shot put

    • Ella Matheson - third place, triple jump and fifth place, high jump

    • Lily Trout - seventh place, discus

    • Seth Leek, Isaac Chandler, Ellio Murillo, and Kenyon Rogers-Gibby - ninth place, 4x200 relay

    • Landon Trout - 13th place, discus

    • Jacob Jones - 14th place, 300 meter hurdles
