On Monday, April 7 Hayesville Middle School girls competed at Swain. They come in third place with 139 points. They were just one point behind Cherokee for second place.
High jump: Leah Black, fifth place, 4 feet 2 inches.
Long jump: Lucy Trout, first place, 13 feet 6.25 inches.
Triple jump: Lucy Trout, first place, 29 feet 5 inches; Ellie Black, seventh place, 23 feet 9.50 inches; Ellie Brown; ninth place, 23 feet 1.50 inches.
Discus: Harper Ledford, second place, 68 feet 2 inches; Candace King, fifth place, 58 feet 8 inches; Alaina Crawford, sixth place, 56 feet 9 inches, Bree Wade eighth place, 54 feet 5 inches.
Shot put: Breeze Wade, third place, 24 feet 10 inches; Candance King, fifth place, 24 feet 2 inches.
4 x 800 meter relay: Ayden Margo, Kennady Trapp, Lily Gordon and Makenna Moss; third place, 11:49.06.
100 meter hurdles: Eva Jones, fourth place, 21.51; Callie Graves, fifth place, 22.01.
100 meter dash: Lucy Trout, second place, 14.78.
